Gentler Implantology
Current developments in dental implantology aim to make implant insertion as minimally invasive as possible while at the same time ensuring reliable healing of the implant.
Older patients often have thinner jawbone. For conventional implant therapy, in many cases bone previously had to be newly built up because the jaw was too severely resorbed.
With newly developed, reduced-diameter yet stable implants, extensive bone augmentation can be avoided in many cases.
The use of classic implant lengths is also limited in the lower jaw by the mandibular nerve and in the upper jaw by the maxillary sinus. In cases of significant bone deficit, reduced-length implants today often make possible a restoration that previously would only have been possible with prior bone augmentation.
